The 2019 Barrie Jones Award Lecture will be given by Dr Sarah Rugheimer (University of Oxford), on Friday 6th December at 8pm UK time. The public lecture will once again be hosted at the Open University, Milton Keynes, and will take place as part of the wider outreach activity of Moon Night.
Sarah’s work, as an astrobiologist and astronomer has taken her from Harvard to St Andrews and now Oxford, and her achievements in astrobiology-related outreach, teaching and mentoring can be found here.
Sarah will give a public lecture, relating to her work on Exoplanets, and will be made available via livestream through the Open University for those who cannot attend in person.
We look forward to you joining us for this evening of astrobiology, either in person at the Open University, or online.
The Barrie Jones Award celebrates those who have made an excellent contribution to outreach and/or the teaching of Astrobiology, in memory of Prof. Barrie W. Jones who was a keen communicator of astrobiology.
