Conference: IAU Astrobiology 2017, Chile

After the successful joint meeting with ISSOL in Nara, Japan in 2014, the IAU Commission F.3 will meet again in Coyhaique, Chile in November, 2017.  This key meeting fosters interdisciplinary collaborations for the advancement of Astrobiology, welcoming researchers from disciplines as diverse as astrophysics, biology, geology, humanities, and sociology, among others.

Astrobiology 2017 welcomes the submission of abstracts for original contribution to the discipline in the following scientific categories and subcategories:

  1. Star and planet formation.
  2. Extrasolar planets / Habitable zones and habitable planets.
  3. Planets in the solar system / Comets and meteorites.
  4. Prebiotic molecules in the ISM and protoplanetary disks.
  5. Early Earth environments and the emergence of life.
  6. Life in extreme conditions.
  7. Search for life in the Universe.
  8. Societal and ethical issues linked to astrobiology.
  9. Education on astrobiology.

Oral contribution submission deadline: July 28, 2017

Poster contribution submission deadline: October 13, 2017
