Online STEM opportunities for astrobiologists

Get school students excited about astrobiology in I’m a Scientist, Get me out of Here!

I’m a Scientist is an online outreach competition where scientists talk with curious school students at imascientist.org.uk, answer their questions, and help raise aspirations towards science.

During March’s British Science Week, the UK Space Agency is funding places for scientists in the Space Exploration Zone of the next event, and astrobiology researchers are invited to apply to take part.

Apply now to be part of I’m a Scientist, running 6th–17th March, at imascientist.org.uk/scientist-apply

The event is an exciting and accessible way to develop your communication skills, gain a fresh perspective on your research and find out what young people really think about science and the role of scientists. Everything happens online so it’s easy for you to be involved right from your desk or smartphone.

There’s no need to prepare activities or take a day off from work. Just log in to the site during the event to answer online questions from students and engage directly with classes in live text-based chats alongside fellow researchers. Students then vote for their favourite scientist, who wins £500 to fund more outreach activities.

Apply by Wednesday 8th February, or find out more, at imascientists.org.uk/scientists
